"Core Time"

Live programmes in Core Time

It's not a tall order is it?

You'd expect your local station to be able to provide 'live' programmes in core time, wouldn't you?

In my mind core time is from 07.00 - 19.00 after that radio's doing battle with television, and before well the majority of potential audience is just waking up

Time to get up?

We won't mention networking but how come more & more stations are running long music sweeps across lunchtime and early afternoon, madness and further undermines the value of local licences and puts more nails in the coffin of ILR

Lead by accountants radio put it down to cost savings, well perhaps but at the cost of audience 'Live' Seven to Seven only if you're lucky

01/06/10 - I gave up listening to ILR some time ago as it appeared to me that they were all cloned from the same place. For quite a few years I have been unable to find one with any individualism. The last one that springs to mind (apart from odd glimpses of Charlie Wolf) was Brian Anderson on Moray Firth Radio. There must still be brilliant DJ's out there the same as there used to be but I haven't heard them. Come back Kenny Everett and Wolfman Jack - all is forgiven- Dave Brown
