The controversial wreck of the Montgomery lies in water on the edge of the Great Nore Sand Bank close to the shore & Sheerness on the Isle-of-Sheppey Lost in 1944 she's laden with munitions, which were deemed too difficult, dangerous & expensive to remove at the end of WWII Since the cargo has been periodically inspected but many believe that decay has made the explosives unstable. Should the wreck explode the devastation & damage to the North Kent coast & beyond could be dramatic
