Continue past the school to reach Davington Church

Whilst the Old Priory & grounds, home to Bob Geldof are closed to the public the church may be visited

Continue down Davington Hill to Davington Pond to feed the ducks

At the 'Bull Inn' turn left

Continue ahead into West Street

Past the 'Mechanics Arms'

Cross the Zebra Crossing continue up West Street

Walk past the 'Sun Inn' & 'Ship' reaching the Market Place again retrace your steps back along Court Road

Pass the Old Maltings now Tesco
Faversham has been home to brewing for centuries, in the 1700s by Edward Rigden founded his WE & J Rigden & Co Court Street Brewery, which amalgamated with George Beer & Co (Canterbury) in 1922 as George Beer & Rigden Ltd. They were acquired by Fremlins Ltd (Maidstone) in 1948 to be taken over by Fremlins. Whitbread bought them out in 1967 the brewery closed in 1990. In 1996 the old Maltings were converted into a supermarket

These pictures from January 2007 are the last taken of the old Rigden Brewery before re-development (amendment)
26/06/10 - In your photographic walk of Faversham you have stated that the old Rigdens Brewery picture taken in 2007 was the last before it was demolished. It has not been demolished but converted and still looks very much the same.

Retrace your steps & continue down Quay Lane towards the Creek, turn right into Belvedere Road

Continue ahead onto a gravel path, at boat yard office turn right them immediately left & left again into Standard Quay

Repertor & Greta in winter cladding at Standard Quay

Retrace your steps at Boatyard office turn left into Abbey Street & have a pint at 'The Anchor' before retuning to your car you deserve it!
